...you have ever heard a piece of music in a movie or ad or anywhere and had it stuck in your head for eternity without knowing who the artist or song was?
There has been an operatic piece tormenting me for YEARS! No exaggeration whatsoever. I could not place where I had first heard it to research, caught it in a couple of ads later, at the time not thinking someone on the internet was wondering the same thing I was.
My writer side has an epic battle played out in mental video, and it has recurred off and on as stated for years.
Last night, it was in yet another ad and THIS time I wrote the ad down and headed for the Internet.
EUREKA!!!!
My torment has a name 'O Fortuna' from Carmina Burana by Carl Orff. I found a brilliant video on You Tube where someone did scenes from '300' to the music, there's even a techno version and band covers of it. But the version in my head is the one accompanying the 300 video.
What a relief! I am utterly giddy at this moment.
So, who else has had this happen to them? Even for a short while?

Three songs actually.
1. The song from the Comcast commercial with that parody company. The BOE Phone Company. I find myself singing that softly while I walk the dog all the time.
2. "Its Raining men." I was looking for some videos of drag queens for my Myspace page and found Martha and Ru Paul doing an updated version and I love it. (Of course as one huge f*g hag I know the Universal Anthem for Gay men and sing it all the time)
3. "Natural Woman." Okay found this one by a drag queen I believe her name is Lala Macallam.( or something like that) and I love the comical way she sings it.
So, there, now they are back in my head.
I'm going to walk the dog now.

There was this time when I couldn't take "She's like the wind' (by Patrick Swayze) off of my head, and I'm not even a fan of the song.
